Facilities and equipment

We have the facilities, equipment and IT development to offer an integral and functional solutions.

Our experts work with various full-body and body part Finite Element (FE) models, with which they can simulate a wide range of boundary conditions, such as the SIMON brain model.

The SLED is designed to perform the impact simulation tests described in ECE Regulations No. 16, 17, 44, and 80, among others within its range of masses and speeds. The working range allows for a maximum mass of 460 Kg and a maximum speed of 50 Km/h. Due to its advanced brake system, it can generate a wide range of braking curves.

We also have all the necessary equipment to perform these tests properly, including:

  • High-speed cameras
  • VICON cameras
  • Data acquisition systems
  • TNO

The Preparation Room is designed and equipped to carry out tests, studies, and autopsies on biological tissue, including full body cadavers and their parts.

In addition to the Preparation Room, we also have a Cold Room for storing corpses, which can hold up to three specimens, each under different temperature conditions.

The Pedestrian Protection Test System (SEPP) is a positioning and launching system for anthropomorphic forms of pedestrian body parts (leg, upper leg, and head), enabling the user to carry out UNECE R12 & R21 tests.

The current working range allows a maximum mass of 50 Kg, a maximum speed of 15 m/s, and a maximum energy of 1800 J when launched.

The Marking room is equipped with all the necessary elements for the weighing and marking of the impact points on motorcycle helmets in accordance of the FRHPhe-02 and R22.06 and conditioning in accordance of the FRHPhe-02.

The Drop Tower is designed to carry out all necessary tests in accordance with FRHPhe-02: high and low-speed linear impact tests, oblique impacts, and the penetration test. The maximum drop speed of a helmet is 10 m/s, and the striker can be dropped from a maximum height of 3.5 m, with a maximum weight of 4 Kg. Additionally, we have the Icono, which allows us to run all tests wirelessly, providing exceptional precision when measuring all required parameters.

It can also be used to perform the impact and penetration tests included in ECE R22, Snell M2020, and JIS T-8133.

In addition to the Drop Tower, we also have the following equipment available to perform the rest of the tests included in ECE R22:

  • Helmet Rain Conditioning Machine
  • EPS Density Testing Machine
  • Helmet Projection and Surface Friction Testing Machine
  • Helmet Strap Retention Testing Machine
  • Helmet Webbing Abrasion and Buckle Durability Comprehensive Testing Machine

The Mechanical Resistance Machine is designed to simulate the wear caused on shopping basket and cart wheels as described in EN 1929.

In addition to the Mechanical Resistance Machine, we have other equipment to carry out some of the tests required by EN 1929, such as:

  • Tipping machine
  • Stopping ramp
  • Tilting platform

We offer sophisticated equipment for comprehensive material analysis. Our advanced suite of tools includes a Universal Testing Machine, Durometer, Densimeter, specialized Inertia Measurement Equipment, and a FARO Arm Coordinate Measuring Machine among other equipment. These instruments provide a robust platform for rigorous and precise investigation into a variety of materials, encompassing everything from mechanical testing to intricate dimensional analysis.
